Hi Michael: I’m thinking of the old adage that “a picture is worth a thousand words”. So how can we find photos that tell a compelling story about how the “Big Beautiful Bill” could make everyday survival more difficult for the working poor who rely on federal assistance like SNAP and Medicaid benefits? How can we put a human face on these policy changes?
You mention a solution is making climate solutions less expensive but here is a related idea: making clear that climate solutions save money, here and now because they Multisolve, such as immediate health improvement and cost reductions. See Multisolving.org and book Multisolving by Elizabeth Sawin
As a side note, I’ve enjoyed your posts on the Cleanview project, particularly the ones on carbon intensity vs. ‘connect and manage’ grid regulations in Texas. Perhaps that should be your next video subject. I personally am more of a ‘process progressive’ than an abundist, but given the trend of ‘red vs blue’ policy wonk content is heating up (e.g. CityNerd’s recent video), it wouldn’t be too bad to capitalize on.
It seems over the last few years the anti-wind, anti-solar, anti-storage anti-electrification energy stories, examples, and images have far outrun the narrative for them. Even among those predisposed to those solutions, any problems or concerns with the above have sown doubt. Me thinks there is an urge in progressives to search for perfection, and because we are actually deploying all of the above, the warts are visible. (Turbines vs. birds, solar farms vs. ag land, wildlife, elitist elec cars, battery fires, battery fires battery fires...) And those already prone to doubts are now total haters of the above. And folks are either saying keep cheap fossil energy, or looking for some perfect over the horizon win-win-win solution (SMRs, geothermal, CCS inc. regen ag, H2 in boilers) which can appear that way because they aren't actually out there for us to see. Or something like that.
Somehow we need to make clear again how keeping GHGs out of the air benefits EVERYONE. I think Schwarzenegger stole the line from JFK, "We all breathe the same air." We need to somehow take the focus off every tiny problem and "concern" back to the bigger picture.
Hot air balloons of GHGs being sucked out of the air in a time lapse of a solar farm?
Love it! Thanks for taking us through the journey. We feel the same way - and that’s exactly how and why we started writing about circular economy across Southeast Asia here 🥹♻️

Glad to be a loyal reader, Michael!

The GIGO of climate science.
Garbage in – A
GHE theory claims without it Earth would be 33 C colder becoming a -18 C ice ball.
Garbage in – B
Ubiquitous GHE heat balance graphics violate GAAP & both LoT 1 & 2.
Garbage in – C
GHE theory claims Earth upwells as a BB creating “extra” energy out of thin air violating LoT 1 & back radiation violating LoT 2.
= Garbage out
Mankind’s CO2 adversely affects the thermal behavior of the atmosphere.
