Look beyond the view narrowed by carbon tunnel vision. These non-renewable, renewable energy-harvesting technologies are neither clean nor sustainable. They are mass-produced industrial technologies that are helping to exacerbate our fundamental predicament of ecological overshoot. Their pursuit is not ‘solving’ our dilemmas but leading us to avoid the more challenging task of confronting our unsustainable expansion and how to manage a significant degrowing of this latest, and global, experiment in large and complex human societies. We need to rethink almost everything if we hope to mitigate in even the smallest amount the impacts of our overshoot.

At 2% nominal interest rates for 10 years and above, and with any GDP growth number above that, it is crazy not to.

The costs will get depreciated and then it is free energy on the grid.
